thumb twiddlers

Singaporeans are seasoned thumb-twiddlers.

Everytime i go on the mrt, i never fail to see a dozen or so quivering thumbs. And so what do they twiddle on?

1) Handphones. All those sms freaks are bound to get arthritis one day.
2) iphone/ipodtouch. It strikes me that these are super popular among mrt commuters.
3) PSP. People who own this have their eyes constantly glued to the screen. If an elephant came stomping in the mrt they wouldn't know, would they?
4) DS lite. People grip their stylus tightly and furiously poke at their screen. They might just poke you in the eye. ouch.

Plastic seats creak with their weight, and my neck creaks in an effort to stare at the ubiquitous PSP.

I learnt the word 'ubiquitous' from neil humphreys.

His books rule.
