happy new year

It took me 3 hours to realise that today IS THE LAST DAY OF 2008. And by tomorrow 2008 will be nothing but a distant memory.

Ok lah, not very distant yet. 2008 was quite an empty year, nothing really significant or blahblahblah. It just lacks something. And anyway so many bad things occurred, like the Mumbai terrorists and the financial crisis.

Things that I like about 2008:
1) I grew slightly taller.
2) Grace pong gave me tiny glass bottle.
3) I managed to struggle through the year without dying.
4) I got a new pair of orange specs.
5) I discovered that taiwan dramas existed.
6) I get to lie in bed the whole day and dream of popiah.
7) I only had to study Philosophy for half the year.

Things i don't really like about 2008:
1) I gained more weight than height.
2) Its hard not to lose tiny glass bottle.
3) I don't like struggling.
4) My eyesight is terrible. I had to pay 40 bucks more precisely because i needed high index lenses.
5) Youtube and Mysoju don't always agree with me.
6a) My leg looks like popiah since its wrapped up in bandages.
6b) I don't like popiah and WHO ON EARTH likes bandages.
6c) Bandages are 100x more itch-inducing than popiah skin.
6d) I don't like being itchy 24/7
6e) I can't scratch my leg thanks to the freaking popiah skin. i meant bandages.
6f) Which once again brings us back to point 6b. At least popiahs never feel itchy.
7) Point 6 reminds me of philosophy class, which is undoubtedly one of the most amazing and thought-inducing subjects in the world. And unfortunately I despise amazing and thought-inducing things.

I sincerely hope that whoever reads this will not get put off by popiah. You will probably get to eat it sometime next year, which sadly begins tomorrow.

taiwanese drama

I am an official taiwanese drama addict. I managed to watch quite a few MUAHAHAHA. So dead. Lets see... It all started with:

1) Corner with love (It was aired before campus shrewd on channel u) This is the first drama i ever watched on channel u. I wasted half of my life watching channel 8. Channel 8 was airing some lao gu dong show called ten brothers and i was not interested at all, so i very smartly changed to channel u. I can safely say that was one of the best decisions i have ever made regarding what i do during my free time. So after that, i researched and found a whole list of taiwan dramas. And so i picked:


2)Meteor Garden
This show is pretty cheesy and awfully romantic at some parts. And the lead actor likes wearing weird clothes. Its a rather old show, i think it was filmed in 2001. I THINK. I also think this is the show that started the whole idol drama craze. Its kinda draggy at parts but its definitely a billion times better than any other local drama I have watched.

3)Meteor Garden II
I finished watching MG and tried to watch the sequel. I didn't really like it. It got kinda boring. haha. So I only watched it halfway, and then switched to something else:


4)Mars
This drama is quite different from other dramas, since its not just all about lovey-dovey crap. It deals with more serious, dark issues, and that is why i like it better than MG or MG2. MUAHAHA. I like.


5)Wish to see you again
Nothing much to say about this. Quite average i think. Its quite nice to watch lah.


6)Hotshot
Some crazy basketball based drama. It is the most DRAMATIC DRAMA out of all these here. it is DRAMA-RAMA-OBAMA. The fact that people can jump super high and stay in the air without falling down is really unrealistic. Its like a bad cross between basketball and kung-fu. I think the main reason people watch it is because of jerry yan, show luo, wu zun and blahblahblah. The basketball matches are pretty exciting lah. But it just irks me because i think someone died in the end. I hate spoilers ): So i stopped halfway and changed to :


7)Fated to love you
OMGOMGOMG. I just finished watching the series TODAY AND I AM EXTREMELY HAPPY THAT SUCH A DRAMA EXISTS. The storyline is a bit unrealistic but that is what makes it nice. And the happy ending is so perfect it couldn't be more perfect because its really so perfect. And i think that the lead actor and actress acted really well too. I THINK. I like the plot a lot. heh. Couldn't be better. No wonder it topped the taiwanese charts. I can happily say that this is the best drama i have ever watched in my 9 years of watching dramas.

I can also sadly say that i CANNOT believe i wasted 8 years and 10 months watching local dramas. Local dramas shall be banished from my sight forever. Oh wait. At least wait till Little Nyonya is over. heh. I think the worst drama i ever watched is Love Blossoms. And yes, it is a local drama. I cannot believe it actually has a sequel. The plot is so draggy, uninteresting, and cliched. And its definitely too long, it could match up to Days of out lives.

Campus shrewd at 7pm, and little nyonya at 9pm. I have no more nice dramas to watch. ):

bored

class allocation is OUT. And im in 305! heh. Some 208ers like celine, squirmy, ziyu, and jesslyn in 305 too. I feel slightly relieved. (: At least there are some people i know. heh.

omgomgomg.

I cannot believe im going to be sec 3 and 15 next year. 15 leh. FIFTEEN.

I feel so old.

Anyway, i want a new phone. I want the nokia n81, which looks like a brick. But who cares, when you have wifi, and n-gage, and blahblahblah. Gives me more reason to stay at mcdonalds to use the wireless@sg. MUAHAHAHAHA. The only lousy thing is that the camera is only a puny 2mp. But it doesnt really bother me that much since i am:

1) Not a cam-whore.
2)Will never be a cam-whore.
3) Only take pictures of random stuff.
4) Like food.
5) Camera function practically sucks up battery life (i think), which means i will have to charge it more often. Which also means i have to use more electricity to charge it. Which also also means i have to pay more electricity bills. Which also also also means im killing the environment since i have to use more electricity which is obtained by burning coals and blahblah to power turbines blahblah.
So basically, I just utilise the camera less.

Oh, and i found out that my nokia 6280 has a trade in value of 40 bucks. heh.

Meanwhile, my dear papa-pants has been crooning christmas carols at the top of his voice. He is supposedly LEARNING them for the christmas party, since he is the guitarist cum lead singer (ahem). I hope the walls are thick enough. Sorry neighbours.

While dear papa-pants was crooning away, mama-pants was wrapping presents. I hate that darn double sided tape. It takes like a billion years to peel that stupid piece of white paper off. And that was why i was disturbed every 5 secs to do the freaking job. I cut all of my fingernails except my right thumb nail since mama-pants required the services of a thumb that preferably had long disgusting nails.

Back from vietnam and i feel like stuffing my face with unhealthy food. MUAHAHAHAHA.

crochet

I have a new temporary hobby. Crocheting. At least i think its temporary. It can be a bit fiddly and irritating. Maybe i should have chosen something less adventurous, then maybe mama-pants won't scream at me for asking her to fix the crazy knots i make every 5 secs.

Anyway, I am crocheting a doily in HOT PINK (I have no idea why mama-pants bought hot pink. Doilies are typically white or creamish. Heh.) And i would rather crochet something less complicated, but the only crochet book she owns is on doilies, and its in JAPANESE. Its like older than me luh. Apparently mama-pants bought it when she was in sec 2. So it is ancient. PAY YOUR RESPECTS.


I cannot believe its still in pristine condition. Seriously.

And this is my current hot pink thingamajig, which is obviously still work in progress. Oh and just for the record, I did not do it all. In fact, I did not do most of it. Heh. Maybe the easier parts only.

Nice right? Its about the size of a coaster now. Those weird lines beside it is the diagram (inside the book) for reference.


My thread, crochet hook, book, and erm, hot pink thingo. Dunno wad to call it now. heh.
